Apartment Ventures Looks to Grow with New COO Kari Wilfong

New Partner Kari Wilfong Looks to the Firm’s Successful History to Plot a Course for the Future

The boutique, full-service real estate investment firm Apartment Ventures is happy to announce Kari Wilfong as their new Partner. “I’m thrilled to have been invited to join Apartment Ventures at this important juncture,” Wilfong says in advance of the company’s 2020 fund launch. Founding partners John Nunn and Lee Carlson echo Wilfong’s delight. “We’re very glad to be bringing Kari on board,” Nunn says. “We’re looking to increase our footprint in the new decade, and we’re confident Kari is the person to help us do that.” Carlson agrees: “I’ve known Kari personally and professionally for many years and think very highly of her experience, character and integrity. In fact, we’ve been asking Kari to come on board for several years. With her in place as Chief Operating Officer, we’re confident that our upcoming capital raise will be a success, and we look forward to the overall growth Apartment Ventures can achieve with Kari’s help.”

Wilfong is pleased be joining the company as it moves into a new decade of success. “I truly consider becoming a Partner with AV the pinnacle of my career. I have invested with the company for over a decade and have witnessed John and Lee’s success first-hand. Their market knowledge and integrity are unparalleled, and it is an honor to partner with them.”

As COO, Wilfong will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Apartment Ventures, as well as their property management company, Fusion Property Management. Wilfong joins AV from CO-OP Financial Services, where she served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for 13 years, driving the organization’s revenue growth which increased by 300% during her tenure. Wilfong will now apply her extensive and successful investment background to the success of Apartment Ventures—and the work has already begun.

Since Wilfong’s addition to the team, Apartment Ventures has closed on three exciting new investments, with a fourth in the works. The company has also moved offices as part of their growth strategy. With the anticipated success of their next fund launch, the partners knew they needed more space. “We are excited about 2020,” says Wilfong. “We’re extending our successful investment platform and plan to raise in excess of $400M in new capital. We’re focusing on growing the company, and we’re going to continue doing what we do best because our results proves it works.”

Real Estate firm Apartment Ventures creates successful and ethical investment opportunities by creating spaces that people love. They evolve properties into communities with fair pricing, responsive management, and resident-focused improvement. Partners for 35 years, Nunn and Carlson are celebrating 21 years since the founding of Apartment Ventures together in 1999. Since then, the firm has successfully completed over 100 transactions, representing $1.5B+. The company focuses on markets in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.
